Glass Dharma Review and Giveaway! Ends 12/3/12

If you're like me, you use a lot of straws.  For me, it's sipping the magnificent cold concoction called iced coffee!  They also come in handy for lemonade, tea, milk shakes, cola -- you get the picture.  Use them once -- they get tossed into the trash bin and you're off buying more.  I imagine there is a landfill somewhere inundated with plastics straws in all shapes and sizes.  Not cool.

A little over a year ago, Lizz introduced me to straws made of glass.  Glass, you ask? Oh, you betcha!

Glass Dharma has been producing glass drinking straws since 2007.

The  Glass Dharma mission is to create world-wide awareness about single use plastics and how damaging plastic straws are to our environment. Glass Straws provide an alternative that eliminates the need for straws made from plastic.

I admit -- I was a bit wary at first.  A glass straw?  Well... what if it breaks?  You worry about that, too? Let me put your mind to rest.  It's not going to break with everyday, normal use!  Why? Because Glass Dharma makes their straws of borosilicate tubing and is the strongest glass commercially available.  Very similar to Pyrex and the glass carafe of your coffee maker! And we all know how strong those are!

They are strong enough to be portable, too!  Tell your waitress or barista that you don't need their plastic or paper straw, you've brought your own!  You will be the envy of all of the other customers with your chic glass straw.  :)

Glass Dharma offers a 100% Satisfaction / Lifetime Guarantee.   If it chips or breaks in normal use -- it WILL be replaced!  I admire companies that stand behind their products.

But why switch to glass?  Plastic is more "convenient", yes?  The resounding answer is NO!.

Glass offers so many benefits to both the person using them and to the environment!
  • Glass straws don’t leach toxins into your food as you drink.
  • Each time you use your glass straw equals one less plastic straw ending up in your landfill.
  • One glass straw replaces thousands of plastic straws. (How many times will you use a straw the rest of your life?)
  • Using your glass drinking straw adds a feeling of beauty to your day.

I've been using mine for a while now and I can tell you that I really love them.  I make a lot of iced coffee and rather than use the annoyingly flimsy (and often broken) plastic straws, I've been using the Glass Dharma straws.  It does make a big difference!  No sharp edge on the rim of the straw, no breaks due to bending the straw, no plastic taste in your mouth, and best of all, no plastic straws in the trash and landfills.

Just clean the straw thoroughly after use, put it away until next time. Think of the money you'll save!

These straws come in several different widths and lengths to serve every purpose. Some are even angled for better 'reach' to your lips. (I love those!)

You may purchase the brushes to clean the inside of the straws and other accessories on their website.

You can connect with Glass Dharma on their many Social Pages.  They love to hear feedback from customers and friends!  Just follow them on Facebook, Google+, Pinterest, and @GlassDharma on Twitter.

The generous folks at Glass Dharma have kindly offered one of my readers the chance to win a $25 Glass Dharma Gift Certificate!  How cool is that, ya'll?

Just follow the instructions below for your chance to enter to win!

Open to USA only, please.  One entry per email, per person, per household.  All entries will be verified.
